San Martín de los Andes is located in the middle of the Andes Mountain Range, on the shoreline of Lake Lácar, 428 km away from Neuquén Capital City, approximately 1,600 km away from the city of Buenos Aires and 45 km away from the border crossing with Chile. Access is gained across fully paved routes (National Route 234) and by air, landing in Chapelco Airport.
Chapelco ski resort is only 20 km away from San Martín de los Andes. This outstanding ski resort has a ski area of 140 hectares and its runs are located among forests and large mountain valleys. It has a well-known ski and snowboarding school with over 100 broadly experienced instructors. It also offers comfortable and cozy coffee shops and restaurants over the mountain, inviting guests to rest. The season begins on June 20 and ends during the first days of October. In addition to skiing, there are other activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobile rides, boat tours to Quila Quina and Hua Hum and to the Arrayán Lookout Point, showing an exceptional view of the city, the surrounding mountains and Lake Lácar. |
