Located on the Northwest of the Province of Mendoza, the department of Las Heras is located within a mountain area separated by valleys.
Las Heras borders on the main and front mountain range to the West. Towards the East, the region forms a plain where most inhabitants have settled down. It has a continental climate where the four seasons are well-defined without extreme temperatures.
Situated a few minutes away from the “Francisco Gabrielli” International Airport, this region may be accessed both by air or land along National Routes 7 and 40. Chile is reached through the “Libertadores” border crossing.
Las Heras is chosen by andinism lovers, as it invites visitors to try interesting circuits, such as climbing the Aconcagua, the highest mountain in America. Los Penitentes ski resort is located 173 km away from the city. This is a special spot to enjoy winter sports with the entire family.
Along the same route stands Puente del Inca, where five kinds of hot springs flow at various temperatures and carrying diverse mineral components.
